Halo Grunt Plushie

Description

This plushie has been sold to a buyer in Louisiana. God speed, gruntie!

"What is love? Baby, don't hurt me. Don't hurt me, no more..."

I'll bet you now have the SNL sketch running through your head.

I thought of it because this poor little grunt just wants love, rather than all that tricky war stuff...or sticky grenades...or confetti...

Poor little cuddly cannon fodder.

I actually started this plushie last summer, waaaay before I made my "Random" plushie, but had to stop working on it in order to build my Jackal costume. (Technically this is my first plushie I've made...so yeah. Not good quality because of lack of experience, but you know.) Since it's now summer and I have all the time in the world, I figured I'd finally get around to finishing this little guy.

He measures about 2' 3" from head to feet, or 2'6" from feet to the tip of his methane tank. He is hand sewn, because I do not have a sewing machine (ugh) and I didn't use a pattern because I don't like doing things in an orderly, pre-planned fashion. So, sorry in advance to anyone who might want to make their own. I just make shit up as I go along.

His design is based on a combination of the Halo 1 & 2 grunts and the Halo 3 grunts. I also took some creative license with the details of the armor because I didn't want it to be overwhelming...which it is, and that's how I messed up. Oh well.

Also, I purposely used black thread. I was trying to go for some kind of cutesy hand-made look. Not sure if it worked or not, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I heart him ^_^

Would you still make one of these grunt plushies? I would love to have one made for my son as a Christmas present.
