For anyone who does not know what a Jackal is, here is their wiki: [link]

I don't know where I got the name "Kek" from. According to the halo wiki, however, the name is appropriate for their language. And it kept popping into my head, so *shrugs*

Anyway, this is my jackal costume which took about 8 months to make. I finally finished this beast, and displayed it at Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois. Sadly, I did not win any contests, but I had a lot of people boost my ego with compliments. I also had one person go, "JACKAL! It's a JACKAL! A JACKAL! Is it a JACKAL? JACKAL!" which made my day.

The armor is made out of cardboard sealed with paper tape. The skin is fabric, airbrushed for detail and with some areas speckled with liquid latex. The mask is a cardboard base with clay and liquid latex. The stilts have a wooden base and are cardboard, fabric and stuffing.

The jaw is hinged to move with my mouth, and I have digitigrade stilts to make my legs look more jackal-like. The stilts' toes bend when I walk. Also, the shield lights up with LEDs. I have a plasma pistol which wasn't included in most shots as I did not make it, but I did detail it to look more old and worn. His armor is detailed to look scratched, rusted, covered in dirt and grime. He also has some scars on his arms, a massive bullet wound in one shoulder, and a slash on the side of his head.

This would be much easier to evaluate if it were on a skinnier person.

I work with what I have to work with; I believe you should do the same.

I happen to disagree with that mindset, and cannot sincerely state that I respect it.

No contest.

That's probably your own personal problem, then.

I have failed to understand how that logic is problematic

Probably a little LARGE for a Jackal, based on what I remember from C.E., but this looks AMAZING. My only real critique is that for the head, they generally had bigger eyes (Which would increase your visibility) and a smoother transition from 'head' to 'muzzle'. Otherwise, this looks absolutely incredible, I salute your (extremely) impressive skills.

I think those criticisms are fair. It would definitely be something I'd work on if I redid it. But thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. :)

No problem! It really is an absolutely awesome set up, the energy shield is particularly sweet.

Awesome. I found your thread on this on the 405th forums, and since it linked to DA, I figured I may as well put a word in.
It's probably one of the best non-human Halo costumes I've seen, ranking up in the top with another amazing Elite costume.
