Karata Reference Sheet 1.0

I realize that the file size of this is not big enough for you all to see some of the finer details of this pic, but that's because my photoshop was not allowing me to save a super huge file today (which makes no sense, since it does any other time I scan something this size). So until I get around to re-piecing this pic together and reposting it, this is what I've got to show.

You get the gist of it anyway.

Anywho, this is Karata, my dragon character. He was created by a man named Karata, whom the dragon is named after, and currently resides as the "second soul" (a working name for a concept I have in my storyline) of Oxana.

This reference sheet is probably going to be redone in the future. I wanted to try something new with scales as far as overlapping them and things. I've been inspired by the people I watch on dA, but I can't seem to get it right. But it was my first time, after all, so I can't expect perfection.

Also, I know the upper right hand corner view is screwed up. The wings' perspective and scale looks completely messed up as I couldn't get it right, so forgive me.

The major difference with Karata in this reference is this is the first pic with him where he has his newly added side feathers. This feature is something I'm going to make universal with my dragons, as it will help them slow themselves down when landing (like a bird's tail). It was hard to figure out what colors to make Karata's without it being too overpowering. I'm not sure I'm happy with the results, so we'll see what I figure out in the future.
