Halo Grunt Plushie by randomflyingpigeons Halo Grunt Plushie by randomflyingpigeons
This plushie has been sold to a buyer in Louisiana. God speed, gruntie!

--------------------------------

"What is love? Baby, don't hurt me. Don't hurt me, no more..."

I'll bet you now have the SNL sketch running through your head.

I thought of it because this poor little grunt just wants love, rather than all that tricky war stuff...or sticky grenades...or confetti...

Poor little cuddly cannon fodder.

I actually started this plushie last summer, waaaay before I made my "Random" plushie, but had to stop working on it in order to build my Jackal costume. (Technically this is my first plushie I've made...so yeah. Not good quality because of lack of experience, but you know.) Since it's now summer and I have all the time in the world, I figured I'd finally get around to finishing this little guy.

He measures about 2' 3" from head to feet, or 2'6" from feet to the tip of his methane tank. He is hand sewn, because I do not have a sewing machine (ugh) and I didn't use a pattern because I don't like doing things in an orderly, pre-planned fashion. So, sorry in advance to anyone who might want to make their own. I just make shit up as I go along.

His design is based on a combination of the Halo 1 & 2 grunts and the Halo 3 grunts. I also took some creative license with the details of the armor because I didn't want it to be overwhelming...which it is, and that's how I messed up. Oh well.

Also, I purposely used black thread. I was trying to go for some kind of cutesy hand-made look. Not sure if it worked or not, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I heart him ^_^

Well, when I put the original one up for auction on ebay, the final price was $61, which included the shipping. I have SOME of the original materials left over, I think, but I'd have to dig them up. Otherwise it would require buying a few yards of new fabric. But I think I'd aim for $50.

If you wanted one exactly like this one, know that I didn't use a pattern so it's not going to be 100% the same. But it will have the same quality--probably much better, actually, given that I have a sewing machine now and my sewing skills have improved a TON since I made this.

If you wanted different colors, any specific things, any special fabric types, we would address this. If you want it much more complicated than this one it's going to raise the price somewhat, within reason. But I always have thorough communication with my clients to ensure 100% satisfaction down to the last detail of my commissions.

The only other thing is I require 50% payment up front. I use paypal. I can get the plushie done in a month, or two when I'm particularly busy. A month or less is most common, though. Also, if you wanted it somewhat smaller that would reduce the price and time to make it considerably.

Let me know if you are interested and we can arrange a commission! I'm glad you are interested.

Wow! I can't tell you how excited I am! ... This is actually going to be a surprise present on Christmas for my boyfriend. He loves Halo and has been calling himself "Lord Grunty" since he was 12 haha :-).

Thank you! I am definitely interested! Please write up an understanding of me commissioning you to make this. Please provide me with your paypal information so I can send you 25 dollars upfront. :-)

I would like the grunt to be a regular one --- (purple/grayish skin with an orange triangle pack.)Kind of what you originally made, but maybe a little less black. :-) I would like the grunt to be just as big with possibly smooth/soft material so that it is a "plushie" plushie! Lol

I will also need your name, address, and phone number. If you would please write up the agreement and scan it to me so that I have a copy, I would be grateful!

I am so grateful and extremely happy! I've been looking all over for a grunt plushie for him and this is perfect! <3

Thank you and I look forward to talking again soon!

(More information including my name, address and phone number have been written to you in a private note... Thank you!)
