The second, and hopefully final, Covenant Grunt costume from the Halo series. I made one in high school, and thought I'd redo it, since my cardboard-sculpting techniques have improved in college.
Took me about a month and a half to make, mostly because I put everything off till the last minute.
I tried entering a costume contest but that turned out to be a complete joke. But the amount of "oh my god"s and "that's the best costume I've ever seen"s totally made up for it.
I was amused at all the people who thought I was a man. I sure fooled them! ^_^
For comparison, here is my first attempt at the Grunt costume, circa 2005: [link]
Materials:
Cardboard; paper tape; hot glue--for the armor Cardboard; staples; fabric; stuffing; copic airbrush system--for the skin Liquid latex, bald cap, cream makeup--for the face/head Cardboard etc and respirator for the mask.
That's just insane! And you didn't even use resin..! o_o I would love to learn this technique... I have made cardboard costumes in the past, but they always resulted in crap. Do you use regular cardboard, like if someone bought a new tv you could use the box? Thanks, and again insane work on your costumes.

One of these days I'm going to get around to posting a tutorial on youtube. Probably sometime when I'm not so busy.
Thanks.
