Oh Pink Floyd, how I love thee. I was listening to The Division Bell while sketching this, and that song fits quite well, methinks.
***EDIT (By the way, this picture is nothing Pink Floyd-related at all, despite the screaming face. I just happened to be listening to it and think it fits for this description)***
At any rate...this drawing is one failure after another, and one achievement after another, but it all comes down to this nonsense piece of work. I'm proud of what I did yet scornful of the results. Shit happens.
I've been feeling a lot of cognitive dissonance lately, and this picture quite accurately (or was supposed to, anyway) portrays that.
My lip is twitching.
Materials:
Generic misfit markers, copic markers, india ink, copic airbrush system (with my new air compressor, huzzah!), white chalk pastel, cursing post-it notes, saliva, windex, a frisbee, and a plastic dish scrubber.
15"x20" Illustration board (which, in realizing I had bought the wrong kind, soon understood why none of the ink seemed to be setting in right...)
Sperm Armada! *cough* anywayssss heawer...I <3 you the pictures amuses me..its purdeh it has a lot of details that you dont pick up upon first looking at it..dun Dun DUn
Holy damn, that's trippy in a most epic fashion. I must say, point is well made. My favorite part is how you did that ring of pinkish light without making it stand out so blatantly. Very cool and well done and...trippy is not the word to describe this, otherworldly? Yes. There's so much to look at. It's a shame that things like this are never made under better circumstances, ya know? lol

Hehe. That's the best sentence I've heard all day.
Thanks for your great feedback. I always appreciate it, and I'm glad you like it so much ^_^
If your curious, I did that ring by placing a frisbee over the picture and then spraying windex around it. The windex takes the ink right off or kinda bleaches it somehow. *shrugs* I'm guessing that someday years from now it could have a tarnished look to it due to the acid or whatever reacting with the markers, but that kinda adds more meaning to the pic, methinks.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
